Eleva is
located on the northwest corner of Trempealeau County. Eleva was settled in
the 1870's and was called New Chicago.
It was later renamed Eleva and is known as
"The Crossroads of Friendship."
Highways 10 and 93 meet at the heart of town.
Eleva is located on the Buffalo River with Big
Creek and Adams Creek flowing into the Eleva Pond.
The creeks and pond offer top notch trout fishing.
Vacationers approaching Eleva from the north, over the Eleva Ridge, will experience one of
the most breathtaking views of the peaceful Beef River Valley. Eleva offers a beautiful
park adjacent to the Eleva Pond on Highway 93.
The park offers something for everyone
- playground area, horseshoe pits, volleyball courts, softball field, charcoal pits, and
sheltered picnic areas.
Eleva has a population of 500, but, during the first weekend in June it swells to about
20,000.
People come from miles to partake in the
Eleva Broiler Festival festivities. Activities
include great musical entertainment, a carnival, parades, and some of "the
best"
charcoal chicken.
The railroad of 1889 no longer runs through Eleva, but has been replaced with The Buffalo
River State Trail. The trail is of multi-use. It runs from Fairchild to Mondovi and is
used by enthusiasts, horseback riders, and other recreational vehicles.
We welcome you to our community and
know you will always be greeted with a smile!
