Fishing Resources abound in
Trempealeau County.
The County
has many miles of trout streams that provide excellent fishing
for Brook and Brown Trout. Most streams have natural
reproduction and those that don’t are stocked by the state and
local Rod and Gun Club hatcheries. 12”-14” Brook Trout are
not uncommon.The
Mississippi River offers some fantastic fishing anytime of the
year. Walleyes, saugers, bass and blue gills the size of
Frisbees are there for the taking. Third Lake is an extremely
popular and productive fishing area. It just doesn’t get any
better than that.
The
Mississippi River runs along the southern end of the
county--right past the village of Trempealeau! The Mississippi
contains most types of warm water fish. Panfish and walleye
fishing are very popular.
