Hunting Trempealeau County

Trempealeau County is well-known for its deer herd.  Pope and Young class bucks are common.  For the last several years, the turkey population has just kept increasing.  The county is divided into two turkey-hunting zones. One being excellent and the other better than excellent.

A state record is certainly out there gobbling somewhere in the county.  Fair to good duck hunting can be had in the Mississippi River Bottoms (Mississippi Wildlife Refuge).  Trappers can harvest various fur-bearing animals such as beavers, muskrats and mink.
