Pigeon Falls, a Norwegian settlement founded in 1866, is nestled among
the rolling hills and valleys along the Pigeon Creek.
Also
founded in 1866, is the Pigeon Creek Evangelical Lutheran Church located on the east edge
of the village on Highway 121.
The beautiful small country-type church is still very active and sits proudly upon the
hill on which it was built.
A family operated meat service is famous for their Norwegian Meatball Mix.
The mix is sold throughout the Midwest
and used for the many Norwegian
Harvest Suppers held each autumn.
They continue to sell a full line of fresh and smoked meat products.
Each year Memorial Day weekend marks the calendar for the local celebration
sponsored by the Pigeon Falls Lions Club.
The many events are held in beautiful Ekern Park.
The park is located on the village mill pond, with scenic picnic sites, camping sites, good
trout fishing, tennis and softball
facilities.
As
you drive north of the village on
Highway 53 the scenic Buena Vista
wayside park over looks the many dairy
farms in the valleys. The beautiful summer sunsets are a sight to behold.
Have a great time
visiting us in Pigeon Falls
