A railroad, and rich
cropland, brought folks to Whitehall in 1873. Today, picturesque scenery, recreation,
friendly people and fine stores bring
people "home" again and again.
Settlers first came to these picturesque bluffs and fertile valleys in the 1850's.
Twenty years later the Green Bay and Western Railroad came and a village sprang up.
The scenic beauty, small-town feeling and neighborly attitudes remain. And a drive through
nearby areas where the Amish practice their traditional lifestyle will take you on a trip
back through time.
Recreational opportunities include a nine-hole public golf course. Colonel Larson Memorial
Park has a swimming pool, softball field, picnic areas, park shelters, and basketball,
horseshoe, tennis, and volleyball courts.

Public hunting and fishing grounds are only a short drive away, including the
Whitehall-Pigeon Rod & Gun Club,
three miles from downtown. And Whitehall's at the hub of the county's 200 mile snowmobile
trail system.

Visitors can stay at a historic country inn, located on a three-acre estate accented by a
colonial mansion and beautiful gardens, of at Col. Larson Park, which offers a number of
camp sites, including several with electrical
and water hookups.
